Stop SB 90
Stop SB 90

Please support our public school staff and students and the rights of ALL parents by rejecting the provisions in SB-90. School districts across our state are facing critical teacher shortages, bus driver shortages and even superintendent vacancies, and fewer and fewer students are entering teacher education programs. This bill does nothing to solve these challenges! In fact, SB-90 will worsen them as great leaders will decide not to seek the role of superintendent and subject themselves to the whim of a few parents. SB-90 will worsen our anemic teacher pipeline and chase existing educators out of the classroom. SB-90 will put children at risk by forcing school staff to “out” them to their parents if they are self-identifying as a gender other than the one assigned at birth. SB-90 strips children of the freedom to read and learn by forcing public libraries to share their library history with their parents. This bill is unnecessary, does not address the real, urgent needs of our public schools such as adequate funding, educator support, student mental health supports and more. Stop SB-90 and focus on the real needs of our public schools!
