Dear Legislators, I am writing today to ask you SUPPORT HB749 – Healthy Students - School Psychs/COVID-19 - which will significantly improve academic achievement, promote positive behavior and mental health, support diverse learners, create safe, positive school climates, strengthen family-school partnerships, and improve school-wide assessment and accountability. School psychologists help assess the prevailing climate in schools and recommend strategies to identify at-risk students, areas of school vulnerability and conduct essential prevention programs. No group was affected more than the youngest members of our society: our children. COVID has proven the vital roles that school psychologists play in the lives of our children and their value in helping children deal with mental health needs. Please pass HB749 and help our children have access to the services they need when they return to school after a yearlong pandemic. It is encouraging to see such a positive, important bill that has bipartisan support. Please vote YES on HB749. Thank you for your consideration.
