Charter school overhaul is making progess in Delaware–after bankruptcies.
Delaware’s House Bill 165 is designed to improve charter school accountability, raises the standards for new charter schools and appropriates new state funding.
The proposed Senate Bill 337, NC Public Charter School Board further reduces the span of control of the Superintendent of Public Instruction by creating a NC Public School Charter Board that would exercise its powers and duties independently of the State Board of Education and Department of Public Instruction. As the State Constitution holds the State Board of Education responsible for the success of our public schools, why is this Charter Board not accountable to the SBOE?
