Dear Legislators: I am writing today to ask you to hold school budgets harmless for 2020-21. Now is not the time to further harm a school district’s ability to serve their children. Many of our school districts are still operating with less funding than they had in 2008. Our schools will continue to have unexpected and extraordinary expenses to keep our educators and students safe from COVID-19 along with working to deliver high-quality remote instruction to our students. School districts do not have local funds to replace unexpected funding cuts. I am asking you to hold our school budget harmless and keep this year’s school funding the same. It is a matter of equity and fairness for all of our students!
