Please Fund Our Public School Educators, NOT Private School Vouchers STOP funding unaccountable private, mostly religious schools that do not serve all children. DO support adequate funding for our public school educators, early childhood programs, and other vital programs that benefit communities. It is fiscally irresponsible to spend our public tax dollars on programs that will primarily benefit rich people who already send their children to private schools. Don’t add tax dollars to an already overfunded private program that siphons money away from our public schools. Show your support instead for our public school teachers and support staff that are educating the majority of our school-age children as mandated by our state’s constitution! North Carolina teacher salaries have stagnated for more than a decade and are now lower than salaries in other southern region states. Our schools can’t attract or retain quality educators when the NCGA puts them at a competitive disadvantage through skimpy funding that does NOT even keep up with inflation. Raise the base salaries for all teachers so local communities don’t have to shoulder so much of the burden through salary supplements! Our North Carolina children public schools need your support! For decades they have been underfunded and are currently experiencing some of the worst staffing shortages ever. North Carolina can’t afford to give money to private schools and wealthy families that don’t need it. Imagine what our public schools could achieve if they have adequate funding and staffing. Tell legislators to fix our problems and stop creating them - stop funding private schools. A NO vote on vouchers is a YES vote for a strong, statewide education system that benefits all students!
