A recently-published study from the Frank Porter Graham Child Development Institute found that Georgia’s state-funded pre-K programs “resulted in significantly better school readiness skills across domains of learning.” Participation in a pre-K program produced “significant positive outcomes for children, regardless of family income level or English language skills.” Improved school readiness was seen across multiple measures, including: language, literacy, math, and general knowledge.
Other pre-K studies conducted in North Carolina and Tulsa, Oklahoma have demonstrated similar, positive results.
