Constitutional Amendments on the Ballot: How Could They Impact North Carolina?”
Join Public Schools First NC and the League of Women Voters of North Carolina on Wednesday, October 7, 2026 at 7:30-8:30 p.m. for a conversation with legal experts to discuss the three constitutional amendments on our November ballot.
Voters will consider amendments addressing the state’s maximum income tax rate, limits on local property-tax levies, and photo ID requirements for voting. This webinar will focus primarily on the two tax-related amendments and what they could mean for funding public schools and other public services.
Constitutional amendments are consequential: once approved by voters, they become part of the state constitution and are more difficult to change than ordinary laws.
Our presenters will help explain what the proposed amendments would do, how they could affect state and local government, and what voters should understand before casting their ballots.
